Special Feature - A New Path for the Conservation of Indian Cattle

Dr. P. Krishnam Raju Attracts Global Attention with “Nadipathy Miniature Cows”

In the Indian Sanatana tradition, cows hold a sacred and respected place. There was a time when every household considered a cow a part of the family. However, due to urbanization, changing lifestyles, and limited living spaces, cows gradually disappeared from homes. Determined to revive this tradition, Dr. P. Krishnam Raju launched the “Nadipathy Miniature Cows” project, which is now gaining nationwide recognition.

With the rise of apartments and compact homes, raising regular-sized cows has become difficult for many families. To address this issue, Dr. Krishnam Raju spent nearly 14 years researching and developing a special breed of miniature Indian cows that can easily be raised in household environments.

These miniature cows, standing approximately two feet tall, are said to produce up to two liters of milk per day. According to Dr. Krishnam Raju, the breed was developed entirely through natural selection methods and eco-friendly practices.

“Not Against Nature”

Responding to criticism regarding miniature cows, Dr. Krishnam Raju says, “The world has already accepted bonsai trees, pocket dogs, and aquarium fish. Then why should developing smaller-sized cows be considered wrong?”

He emphasizes that his primary objective is the conservation of endangered Indian cow breeds, not commercial profit. His vision is to make Indian cows accessible to every household.

Investment Worth Crores

It is reported that crores of rupees have already been invested in this project. Currently, more than a thousand cows are under his care. Many people are appreciating his efforts toward cattle conservation and the revival of Indian cultural values.

Growing Public Interest

Through innovative initiatives like “Cow Hug Therapy,” efforts are being made to strengthen emotional bonding and affection toward cows among the public. Goshalas say that cows, once viewed only as a source of milk, are now increasingly being treated as family members.

Global Recognition

“Nadipathy Miniature Cows” are now going viral on social media and attracting worldwide attention. Interest in Indian miniature cattle breeds is growing internationally. Analysts describe this initiative as a unique experiment in cattle conservation.

Experts believe that this movement, aimed at reviving Indian tradition, protecting native cattle breeds, and promoting a nature-based lifestyle, may gain even greater significance in the future.
